Ahmed is a former Chief Executive Officer of Turbine Services & Solutions LLC (Sanad Powertech), a leading maintenance, repair and overhaul provider for industrial gas turbines.  In particular, Ahmed oversaw the formation of a specialized joint venture with Gulf Turbine Services and General Electric to provide component repair services for GE Designed Heavy Duty Gas Turbines.  He also previously served as a board member of Strata Manufacturing PJSC and Horizon International Flight Academy.

Prior to joining Mubadala, Ahmed spent 18 years at Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company (GAMCO) in various management roles including General Manager.

In addition, Ahmed also served on the advisory committees of the Engineering Faculty of the UAE University, Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) and the American University of Ras Al Khaimah.

Ahmed began his career as an electrical engineer with the Federal Ministry of Electricity and Water and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University, USA.
