We are also a trusted partner of original engine manufacturers (OEMs) such as Rolls-Royce; our landmark USD 6.5bn engine maintenance agreement with them is destined to triple the number of Trent 700 engines we service annually. Other trusted partners include GE Aviation, International Aero Engines and Pratt & Whitney.

Our Approach to Technology

A fast-paced industry like aerospace requires total commitment and investment in the latest technology. As such, we have always been at the forefront in the application of technological advancement and have been leading the way in engineering excellence and innovation for more than three decades. To ensure that we retain that position in the labour and data intensive MRO business, in early 2018, we launched the Sanad Aerotech R&D program which, in the initial phase, allowed us to focus our energies on technology deployment. As part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we are now the first aircraft engine MRO solutions provider in the world to employ several cutting-edge technologies under one roof. It has since helped us to streamline processes and eliminate paperwork. Amongst the technologies we have deployed include:

  • VoCollect voice-activated, AI technology to perform and receive inspection processes in a fully digitalized fashion
  • TrackIT RFID technology to allow instantaneous tracking of parts and components as they travel through the shop
  • ‘Smart Connect’ digital system in tightening operations to allow direct control and registration of right torque values into our system without the need to revert to paperwork.
  • Automated Maintenance Process tool to enhance efficiencies across the entire MRO process

In addition, we are exploring:

  • Blockchain technology for MRO process – with the potential to eliminate 90% of the time consumed in performing the necessary technical and commercial data exchange processes between Sanad Aerotech and its customers and suppliers.
  • 3DP technology for a number of shop floor tooling and part replacement applications. Several of these applications are in the pipeline.
